Airbnb Launches 'AI Concierge' That Personalizes Every Stay Recommendation and Handles Bookings

Airbnb has launched its most ambitious AI initiative to date — an AI Concierge feature embedded across its app that handles the full booking experience through natural language conversation.
How It Works
Instead of browsing listings, users tell the AI Concierge what they're looking for — "a cozy cabin near a lake with a hot tub for 4 adults, pet-friendly, under $300/night" — and the AI curates a personalized shortlist, explains the tradeoffs, and can complete the booking on behalf of the user.
Negotiation Capability
In a first for the industry, the AI Concierge can send negotiation messages to hosts on behalf of guests for stays over 7 nights, with proven results showing an average 12% discount secured automatically.
Personalization
The system learns from past bookings, ratings, and stated preferences to improve recommendations over time. Users can also explicitly train the AI on preferences like "I hate shared bathrooms" or "I always want to be walkable to restaurants."
Privacy
Airbnb says all preference data is stored locally on-device and never used for advertising. Users can delete their preference profile at any time.
